8/22/09 07:59 pm - I'm alive...

I'm recovering fine for the most part. Swallowing remains a chore, especially if it is something warm. Noticed my left ear constantly aches now, like there is pressure that I can't relieve. If it hasn't stopped by Monday, I'm gonna be calling the doc office. The only time it doesn't hurt is when I've got my pain meds working. And they do for the most part. I just try not to take them all the time, as they are really strong oxy.

Wee man is doing great. He's growing like a weed. He's actually trying to 'talk' talk now. As in he's trying to use real words. He's got hi, bye (as in wave bye), buh bye (as in go buh bye), and mom down. He's working on dad, bottle and daiper.

8/18/09 08:35 pm - blah

Some may know or may not know, but I had my tonsils out today. While it doesn't hurt to talk, it hurts to talk loudly.

Currently I'm trying to get food down so I can take my meds. Pain meds + empty tummy = big mess.

What I'm to understand the surgery went well.

5/28/09 06:16 pm - Just can't find the words...

I'm stuck at trying to figure out how to explain to my honey that I wouldn't mind his solo gaming at a friends every Friday after work, if I also got a day/evening a week to play parental hookie. I've gotten less than one handful of evenings/afternoons of being able to go play without a kid in tow since the wee one was born. He's been getting every Friday evening for about 2-3 months now. Not counting the evenings he just went over to a friends place after work and lost track of time. Even when he is home, I'm still the one who changes 95% of the diapers and does the feeding of the wee one. So I can't just go paint for hours. I keep having to stop to check on the baby.

I also (kinda) understand the desire to escape when Jake comes over for the weekend. Jake was hard to deal with before he hit the teen years, and now he has, he's even worse. But when he vacates the apartment, I end up with both of the kids, leaving me feeling abandoned.

I know our social circle is shrinking due to life. People grow, develope different interests, move for work, etc... I've gone through this before, but my honey hasn't. (Heck, I barely have any contact with my high school buddies. The only one I still have contact with, I talk to about once a month, see maybe twice a year.) But the few 'offers' we've gotten to expand our circle of friends has been for him alone. IE friends wanting to take him away for an afternoon when Jake is here. But that just leaves me feeling alone and resentful. It seems like the only ideas for expanding our social scene that he likes are for him alone. And any that I give out that could expand BOTH of our social circles gets shot down...

Right now my 'social life' consists of ims (rarely outside of the game group or Lyne), mmo's that I usually end up soloing, working for Lyne, maybe 2-3 times of going out to eat a month, trips to the grocery store, and game.

I just don't know how to tell him what I've been feeling without getting him on the defensive. *headdesk*

5/2/09 06:52 pm - raising from the depts of the interwebs...

Hi all,

Long time no post. Wee Man is growing like a weed. He's not quite talking yet, he makes babble talk, but nothing with reconizable meaning yet. He's even gotten a hair cut.

WoW! I'm a tanpopo!

I have started getting my teeth fixed, but due to costs and what my insurance would cover, I've ended having to go with dentures. Blech. Got my teeth pulled today, not fun. And on the way to the dentist, the car went kaput. When it rains, it pours.

2/27/09 09:03 am - whew!

Jake is gonna be fine. Nothing major is wrong. Am much relieved.

2/26/09 07:45 pm - worries...

Jake's stepmom told me this evening that he came home from school with a rash that looked like hickies on his temples. Over the course of the evening, it spread. So his dad took him to the doctors office. The doctors office sent him to the local hospital er to be tested for strep and meningococcal. It's gonna take a while to get results back. Will try to keep folks updated as I get updated.

10/24/08 03:54 pm - home

well the surgery went off without a hitch. the surgeon said that the gb had scar tissue from previous inflamations. so it was a good thing that it is out now. with my meds, i'm currently at about the same pain level on any given day. no lifting wee man for the next couple of days.

10/19/08 10:05 am - life update...

Just realized that I haven't been keeping up here about what is happening in my life.

Since just before New Years, I've been dealing with abdomen pains, both high and low. Well, the upper abdomen pain is finally gonna be taken care of. I'm going in to have my gall bladder and the stones therein removed this Friday.

Wee Man is growing like a weed. Though both he and I have been sick of late. Me more so than him. He's just been having a runny nose, while I'm not keeping food down.

I'll try to give folks an update after the surgery.

9/9/08 07:39 pm - plushie ball

I was wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to find a plushie ball? I want to get a small, fuzzy ball about the size of a large grapefruit to play with Wee Man.

9/9/08 07:33 pm - It's been nearly a year....

As of this Saturday, my wee man Vinnie will be a year old. It's kinda hard to believe it's been a year already.

He has 4 teeth, all across the top front. He's been walking for close to 3 months now. He's starting to figure out how to climb. That scares me, a lot. There are 3 words in his vocabulary so far. Bahbahbahbah, mahmahmahmah, and dahdahdahdah, bottle, mommy, and daddy respectively. He knows other words, but doesn't say them yet. When asked 'where is your blankie?' he runs to his favorite blanket.

6/22/08 08:54 am - teeth

It's now official, the wee man has cut his first tooth. I'd been keeping an eye on the bottom cause I saw one sitting just beneath the surface of the gums. But when I checked on things yesterday, I noticed that one had come through on the top. The little bugger snuck it past me.

6/11/08 08:48 am - first tooth

The wee man is in the process of cutting his first tooth. It's currently sitting just beneath the surface of his gums. So far, so good. Vinnie hasn't been too terribly fussy. So I'm counting myself lucky on that.
